Steven Townsend
Steven Townsend is a completely self-taught artist of exceptional talent. Born in 1955 Steven is married with four children and currently resides in Lancashire.

Prior to joining Northern Editions in 1993, Steven's early work revolved around Wildlife and Landscape painting. He subsequently changed direction to his now famous dog pictures that continue to sell out on publication. After several increasingly successful years, Steven has returned full circle adding African wildlife subjects to his fantastic range of limited editions.

Steven's faith has proved to be a cornerstone of his dedication and ability. Many customers are unaware that hidden in each and every picture he produces the initials JTC (Jesus The Creator), affirming his belief.

We are pleased to have on display and for sale the largest collection in the UK of Steven's Townsend's remarkable watercolours and fine quality signed, and numbered, limited edition prints.

John Trickett
When the "Shooting Times" declared John Trickett as the "finest Labrador painter in England, if not the world", they were really echoing the thoughts of many before and many since. Indeed, when Franklin Mint of America published several of his paintings on limited edition plates in 1996, they repeated the fact that he is one of the finest painters of labradors in the world.

He has won the silver medal in the International Animal Painters' competition in France for a Labrador picture. What few people know is that his amazing ability is not limited to painting dogs. His shooting scenes, river scapes and sea scapes all exude atmosphere. His Norfolk scenes and his Scottish Loch scenes each draw you into them and invite you to relax and become part of them.

Debbie Gillingham
Debbie was born and raised in a small village in Somerset, surrounded by horses & ponies, which developed her interest in the animal kingdom.

After school Debbie studied at Somerset College of Art and Technology and in 1990 moved to Newmarket in Suffolk to be closer to the horse racing industry, working as a stable hand by day and painting the horses by night.

Although Debbie is currently experimenting with and studying many different breeds, her own black Labrador Friday, and Springer Spaniel Toby, provide the main inspiration for her unique drawings. She works in soft pastels on sandboard, which she finds helps to achieve the shine and texture of her subject's coats.

Mick Cawston
Mick Cawston was one of the finest dog painters of his generation and his work is comparable to that of John Emms or Maude Earl. Mick Cawston worked equally well in oils, water colours or pastels. No matter what breed of dog Mick Cawston portrayed, the character and likeness of the dog are always superb. Mick Cawston's works have been reproduced as limited edition prints and he has been voted 4 times, in the Fine Art Trade Guild survey, as one of the top selling artists, finally wining it in 1998.

Mick Cawston's work hangs in collections in many countries including Sweden, Australia and America.

Mick Cawston sadly passed away in October 2006. He has a great many fans worldwide, and will be sorely missed.
