Our ArtistsWise Owl Gallery offer stunning limited edition prints from some of the most talented artists available today. Below we have selected a couple of artists to feature their backgrounds, we shall broaden this section periodically to act as a reference point for some of the finest artists currently available. Prior to joining Northern Editions in 1993, Steven's early work revolved around Wildlife and Landscape painting. He subsequently changed direction to his now famous dog pictures that continue to sell out on publication. After several increasingly successful years, Steven has returned full circle adding African wildlife subjects to his fantastic range of limited editions. Steven's faith has proved to be a cornerstone of his dedication and ability. Many customers are unaware that hidden in each and every picture he produces the initials JTC (Jesus The Creator), affirming his belief. We are pleased to have on display and for sale the largest collection in the UK of Steven's Townsend's remarkable watercolours and fine quality signed, and numbered, limited edition prints. He has won the silver medal in the International Animal Painters' competition in France for a Labrador picture. What few people know is that his amazing ability is not limited to painting dogs. His shooting scenes, river scapes and sea scapes all exude atmosphere. His Norfolk scenes and his Scottish Loch scenes each draw you into them and invite you to relax and become part of them. After school Debbie studied at Somerset College of Art and Technology and in 1990 moved to Newmarket in Suffolk to be closer to the horse racing industry, working as a stable hand by day and painting the horses by night. Although Debbie is currently experimenting with and studying many different breeds, her own black Labrador Friday, and Springer Spaniel Toby, provide the main inspiration for her unique drawings. She works in soft pastels on sandboard, which she finds helps to achieve the shine and texture of her subject's coats. Mick Cawston sadly passed away in October 2006. He has a great many fans worldwide, and will be sorely missed. |
